PNG to JPG (PNG to JPEG) discards alpha and uses MozJPEG. That is correct for photographs saved as PNG, and wrong for logos that need a crisp transparent edge.
Many “PNG screenshots” of games or camera apps are photos. PNG to JPEG will shrink them with MozJPEG locally — no upload required.
If you need transparency, do not convert PNG to JPEG — use WebP or stay on PNG.

Drop PNGs. Output JPEG. Transparent pixels flatten (typically against a background the encoder treats as opaque — preview the edges).

Image processing is 100% client-side in your browser with WebAssembly. Your photos are not uploaded, I cannot see or recover them, and sampled session replay is UI-only and does not include image pixels (media is blocked). The site still sends usage analytics and crash reports — details are on the privacy page. That includes every PNG to JPG job — the converter never needs your files on a server.
